Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
Approximately 365,000 people in North America die from Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) every year. The AMA and AHA recommend that AEDs be used as a standard of care in the treatment of SCD. Burdick offers state-of-the art defibrillators.
Any AED can provide a life-saving shock during a cardiac arrest, but our AEDs provide continuous monitoring capabilities during and after resuscitation. These compact units feature the proprietary Rescue Ready® technology, which performs daily automatic self-tests of electronics, battery and electrodes along with monthly full-charge tests to ensure that it is always ready for rescue.
Medical practitioners can choose either professional, standard or consumer grade models, which ever meets their needs.

Once the defibrillation pads are attached to the patient, the device detects the person's heart rhythm, analyzes the rhythm using the patented RHYTHMx® software, and if a life-threatening rhythm is detected, instructs the user to stand clear and automatically delivers a defibrillation shock. |
